The Jacka ft. Messy Marv, Keak Da Sneak, Dem Hoodstarz, Fed-X & Matt Blaque- All Over Me (Bay Area Remix)

Can be heard on the new site.... http://www.thebayisback.com/

Yes, that's right.... leftcoast415.blogspot.com is about to be retired.
I decided to move to a new location because it is more customizable, it allows me to make multiple pages, etc.

The new site is basically going to be built one step at a time, I really don't know what I'm gonna do exactly, but it will feature the same content that many of you have gotten used to on here for the past year and a half (or however long its been) plus more.

TREY-C- Hip Hop Saved My Life

An original song with him and Crooked I should be coming soon...

Messy Marv- Tha Shooting Range

Messy Marv- Tha Shooting Range

It kinda sucks that the Messy Marv/San Quinn beef has died down. The past two days, I set records for hits on my blog.

Meesy Marv and San Quinn Beef Pt. 5

Ok..... maybe now it's over.

Messy Marv: "There's gonna be no more diss tracks"

Listen to an interview with The Boy Boy Young Mess on what's been haaaapppnin. He didn't get too deep into it, but he touched on some interesting stuff.

Messy Marv Interview

Shout out to coopdvill of siccness.net for the interview.

Edit: zshare link was taken down (probably by the label)....but this will work....

After hearing 4 songs that are supposed to be on 40's "Ball Street Journal" I still dunno if I'm gonna buy it.

Messy Marv And San Quinn Beef Pt. 2

I guess this is really happening.

The track is called "Messy Marv is a Turf Hopper".

I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet (song wont play for me for some reason), but from comments I've read on siccness, the track sounds like it was recorded in 2005, and has subliminal shots instead of calling out Messy Marv by name...but the song title says it all.

**EDIT** I don't see the song up on Quinn's page anymore...so u'll just have to take my word for it.

**EDIT #2** LISTEN TO THE TRACK HERE

Messy Marv and San Quinn Beef???

Say it ain't so......

Listen to the track "Talk Baseball" on Messy Marv's myspace.

All bad. Hope this doesn't turn ugly.

(Video) Locksmith Freestyle On Shade 45

Locksmith of The Frontline & some other dude I don't care about go back and forth. Locksmith's verses didn't seem like they were off the top of the head, but they were nice.

New San Quinn Interview From Dubcnn

Quinn talks about his music/business career (past and future). Not too much new info, but a good read for those not familiar with Quinn.

Trey-C ft. Glasses Malone & Mistah F.A.B.- Driving Down The Block (Remix)

Trey-C ft. Glasses Malone & Mistah F.A.B.- Driving Down The Block

I posted a version of this track a while back that had G Malone and Fab on it as well as some other rappers. Trey-C sent over a new remix with a new verse from him. I think his verse is nice, especially with him reppin SF. Listen for yourself and if you like what you hear check out his blog site @ http://www.therealwhiterapper.blogspot.com/

F.A.B. is last in the video and spits for the greatest amount of time. From what I read, Mos Def used a verse from one of his songs.... Beanie Sigel sounded good, and F.A.B. really did his thing.

(Album) The Jacka & Lee Majors- Gobots

Title: Gobots
Artists: The Jacka & Lee Majors
Label: Million Dollar
Release Date: 8/19/08
Artist Location: Bay Area, California

Track List:

1. Botro 1:57
2. Let Me Be (Ft. Matt Blaque) 3:23
3. Losin My Brain My Mind (White Girl) 3:08
4. Im A Gobot (Ft. Mistah FAB) 3:14
5. Tryna Find A Way (Ft. D-Dre The Giant) 4:00
6. Pour Up (Lean) 4:01
7. Luv The Way I Live 2:41
8. D Boyz N Da Hood (Ft. BG Bulletwound) 2:57
9. Like To Do That (Ft. Fed-X) 3:30
10. Kash Kings 3:42
11. Kalifornia 3:47
12. Theez Streetz 3:33
13. Game Been Good 3:04
14. Cars Ride By (Ft. Rahmean) 2:41
15. What Ever We Say (Ft. Dru Down) 2:46

I didn't have high expectations for this album, and it's one that I'll probably forget about in a couple of months. Jacka didn't spit as hard as I though he would, and Lee Majors did a bit better than I what I've heard from him before. There are some highlights, but I wouldn't recommend the album unless you're a fan of one of these artists or live the lifestyle they talk about.

Best track on here is Kalifornia.

E-40 ft Shawty Lo- Break Your Ankles (Produced by Lil Jon)

E-40 ft Shawty Lo- Break Your Ankles

Wack. Lil Jon' needs to find a new sound. Hope this is a throwaway track and not something thats gonna make the album.

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

(Video) Mistah F.A.B. vs. Spade BATTLE

Ok.....this battle started off nice but turned into BS at the end. Spade was spitting...clearly a bunch of shit off the top of his head. F.A.B. knew he was losing, so he tried to make it seem like he was winning. He kept interrupting and trying to make it seem like Spade was weak. From what I saw though...Spade got this one.

Clyde Carson Video Interview

Basically an introduction to people who may not know about him yet....announces a new Team album!

Ya Boy- iPod

Ya Boy- iPod

On this track, Ya Boy talks about how real he is while others are fake (what else is new) and throws a shot at Yung Berg for some unknown reason. In unrelated news, Yung Berg got his ass beat and had his chain snatched in Detroit over the weekend.

Yukmouth ft. Gino- Money In Stacks

Yukmouth ft. Gino- Money In Stacks

J. Stalin- Self Destruction

J. Stalin- Self Destruction

Off "Gas Nation" out September 23rd.

Balance ft. Crooked I, X.O., & Juice- New West

Balance ft. Crooked I, X.O., & Juice- New West

Hopefully this "New West" movement has more luck than the "New Bay" movement. The "New Bay" produced some good artists/music but was pushed to the side to make room for hyphy.

Friday, August 22, 2008

(Video) Keak Da Sneak- Blurpt

Nice to see visuals for this song...even if it is very low budget...with clips from movies thrown in. The end is a trailer from the Ozone West DVD...which has a lot of Mistah F.A.B. in it.

Mistah F.A.B.- Where I'm From

Mistah F.A.B.- Where I'm From

No clue what project this is from...but this song is nice.

(Video) Shawty Putt- That Baby Don't Look Like Me

This beat sounds like every other Lil Jon beat from 2006. Too Short's in it, so I had to put it up.

(Album) Bailey- Just Listen

1. Soundtrack For A Hustla (Intro) 3:37
2. Ball Till I Fall 4:07
3. U Hear Me Now 4:10
4. I'm A Star 3:18
5. Work The Magic (Feat. Mac Bre-Z) 2:55
6. Only Thing I Wish 3:57
7. I Got Bands 3:56
8. Bo Lean 4:27
9. Rip This Track (Feat. Gucci Mane) 5:07
10. That Goose, That Tron 3:07
11. I'm The Shiiiieeeet 3:18
12. Flip N Money (Feat. Young Ralph) 4:55
13. Might As Well 3:59

Bailey has been quiet since he released his solo back in 2006. He recently released a project called "Just Listen", which was a very limited release. From what I heard, Bailey moved down south (I think Atlanta) and you can hear the southern influence on this album's production. Luckily it's not the shitty cheap sounding snap beats (for the most part) but beats I can hear Young Jeezy rapping over. Overall this album sounds designed to build a southern fan base, but is still worth checking out if you're a fan of his older music.

Clyde Carson ft. The Game- Tonight

Clyde Carson ft. The Game- Tonight

A third Clyde Carson song that features The Game...and still no release date for Clyde's album as far as I know. This one doesn't stand out from anything else on the radio...not feeling it.

Edit: For some reason Clyde Carson songs keep leaking. Two more leaked today (U Got Me & One Night ft. Avant). I might post them later.

Outrageous ft. Goldie Gold, 206 Assassin & Enormus Tha Ox- How They Do

Errelevent ft. Dem Hoodstarz, San Quinn, The Jacka & Messy Marv- In The Bay We Hustlin (Remix)

San Francisco, CA -- August 1, 2008
-- The West Coast's Premier Latin Lyricist is back with another banger! Hot off the heels of his regional hit "In The Bay We Hustlin" (which received radio spins on 106 KMEL and XM Radio), Errelevent returns with the official remix featuring San Quinn, Dem Hoodstarz, The Jacka, and Messy Marv! Produced by up-and-coming beatsmith Equivalent Exchange, the song takes a cue from the featured artists' previous radio hits and adds a new twist that is sure to heat up the West Coast for the rest of the summer.

Jacka doesn't sound like himself on this one, but other than that its cool. Quinn killed it.

(Album) Husalah & B-Luv- The Tonka Boyz

1. Husalah Intro: Ova The Phone From The Feds
2. Cuttin' It Up: Original Version
3. Husalah Freestyle
4. Being Down Is My Diesel Fuel: Ova The Phone From The Feds
5. Rims Is Olda Than Me
6. Sittin' Tonka
7. Husalah Interlude: Ova The Phone From The Feds
8. Terrorist In Da City (Feat. The Jacka)
9. That Go
10. You Ain't Us (Feat. Pretty Black, The Jacka & Yukmouth)
11. What Chu Know About
12. Yo' Momma: Remix (Feat. Dubee, Pretty Black & Dru Down)
13. High Up
14. Two-Door Mob
15. Husalah Interlude Freestyle: Ova The Phone From The Feds
16. Bitch Dat's B-Luv (Feat. PSD)
17. Laid Back Slap

I was looking forward to this one, but it turned out to be kinda weak. Out of the 17 tracks, 7 are under 3 minutes long. It sounds like there wasn't much effort in the lyrics. Some of the beats do knock though but I wouldn't waste my money on like 4 good songs. Track # 14 is the best...

Juice ft. Clyde Carson- All My Life

Juice ft. Clyde Carson- All My Life

I'm feelin this one. Haven't heard much from Juice, but he's cool based on this track.

(Video) Guce- Hey Boppa/Champion

I think Guce is kinda weak...even though that Bullys Wit Fullys 3 is probably gonna go down as a SF classic.

Eddie K- Bananas

Gurp City is a collective of folks out of San Francisco consisting MC's, DJ's, artists and so on. MC's include Z-Man (One Block Radius/Hiero/Motel Crew), Conceit (2007 YouTube On The Rise Winner/Machette Vox), Luke Sick (Sacred Hoop/Brougham/Motel Crew), TopR (MC/Lords Crew *graffiti*), the legendary Bullet Proof Space Travelers (DJ Quest, DJ Cue, DJ Marz, and Eddie Def) and lastly and most relevant to this post, Eddie K.

Born in San Francisco, Eddie K started off as a B-Boy (he did backup for KMD when they came to town, and stole their beer...). He joined the Space Travelers as the lead MC for the DJ crew, and has gone on to release several projects throughout the years.

Eddie K- Bananas

"Bananas" is the first single off his upcoming album Future Spit, which is produced by Phillip Treezy, a young producer from Switzerland. It's a sick club track that has a slappin beat.

Clyde Carson ft. The Game- Cali State Of Mind

Clyde Carson ft. The Game- Cali State Of Mind

A snippet of this song was released a while back, but now we have the full version of Clyde Carson's newest single. I was feeling "Doin That" a lot more, but fans of southern Cali's gangster rap and fans of The Game should like this one. I prefer the sound he had as part of The Team, but maybe I'm just getting old??

New Keak Da Sneak Interview From Baller Status

Here's the intro to the interview...

"Yeeeeee! From Davey D, to the Living Legends crew to Hieroglyphics to Too Short, there is no doubt that San Francisco's Bay Area had long made substantial contributions to hip-hop. Set to leave the next big mark is hyphy head honcho, Keak Da Sneak.

He of the raspiest rap has just released his first record in four years on Koch and is ready to bring his wacky, faded subculture to the forefront of the mainstream. But that's not to say that the movement hasn't already made a splash -- his single "Super Hyphy" has had unbelievable success and led to Keak's appearance on MTV's strawberry flavoured "My Super Sweet Sixteen" as a guest performer for some brat's birthday. Then came the retardedly big E-40 track (and Lil Jon-produced) "Tell Me When to Go," which brought Keak's mug onto screens across the country.

Currently promoting his new album Deified, Ballerstatus chatted with Keak from New York, who explains how he hooked it up with Prodigy and Alchemist, and why hyphy will never die."

Best Bay Area Songs Of 2008?

There hasn't been very much to post lately... and I don't like going too long without a new post... so I wanna hear some opinions.

What are your Bay Area songs that came out in 2008. A few that come to mind for me are Yukmouth's "Star In The Sky", Jacka & Berner's "Keep It Street" and "SF Anthem" (don't remember if that came out this year or last).

What are some other good ones? Leave comments and I'll try to post some of them up.
